Brisbane, You Were Everything
May 2026 marked Amba Press's very first Book Nook at the National Education Summit in Brisbane – and what a way to make a debut.
Over two incredible days, we set up shop alongside some of the most talented educational authors in Australia. Many of them were also presenting at NES, which meant the educators stopping by our table had often just heard them speak – and were ready to take their ideas home in book form.
Andrew Fuller, Dr Phil Cummins, Amy Green, Matthew Esterman, Emma Derainne, Dr Michael C. Nagel, Andrew Oberthur and Bianca McLeish were all there, along with Dr Judi Newman and Emma Bird. Seeing our authors in their element – chatting with teachers, signing books, sharing their expertise – is honestly one of the great joys of this job.
For Amba Press, it was the first time we got to meet so many of our authors face to face. After years of emails and manuscript conversations, finally putting a hug to a name meant everything.
To the educators who stopped by, picked up a book and had a chat: thank you. Your enthusiasm is why we do this.
And to Margo and the whole NES team – thank you for welcoming us to Queensland. We couldn't have been happier, and we'll absolutely be back.
