Amba Press author: Adrienne Gear

Adrienne Gear is a literacy consultant, author and workshop presenter based in Kelowna, British Columbia, with more than thirty years of experience in primary education. Over her career in the Vancouver School District, she worked as a classroom teacher, teacher librarian, ESL teacher and district literacy mentor.

She is the author of the Reading Power and Writing Power series, which have helped teachers make thinking visible in classrooms around the world. Her work is used across Canada and the US, and she has presented to educators in Australia, the UK, Sweden and China.

Adrienne is known for her practical, classroom-ready approaches that support both skill development and student engagement in literacy learning. Her books are grounded in real classroom experience and a deep love of children’s literature.
