We were excited to come together on Saturday 5th August at Village Bell Hotel, St Kilda, to celebrate the book launch of Creating Connections by Rachel Stewart.
Rachel is an author, speaker, coach and parent engagement specialist and is founder and director of Practically Learning. She has worked together with teachers and education leaders for more than a decade, continuously looking for new ways to support and improve the educational system, particularly the unique relationship between parents and teachers and the engagement of parents to improve the learning and wellbeing of students.
In her book, Creating Connections, Rachel explores the vital role of parents (and carers) in their children’s education, in particular during the transition to learning at school and beyond. With touching anecdotes from her own life, Rachel describes how the adults who care for children can learn alongside them - with children, families and teachers forming a powerful learning team.
The event was hosted by Rachel, explaining that “parenthood comes with its own challenges, but there is no greater joy than to see your children flourish as unique individuals in their learning journey.”
This book contains valuable guidance and support for parents to reflect and learn from their own schooling and parenting journey, providing insights to encourage a powerful learning team of children, parents, and teachers.
Creating Connections is available here.
