We were thrilled to come together on Saturday 1st April 2023 at Buck Mulligan's, Northcote, to celebrate the book launch of Asserting a Culture of Child Safety by Nicole Talarico.
Nicole Talarico is the founding director of Talarico Consulting and Medical Action Bag. She has consulted in the early childhood sector for more than 20 years, supporting children’s services with high-quality practice and ongoing improvement, specialising in exceeding service provision.
Her book, Asserting a Culture of Child Safety, is a step-by-step guide to champion children’s safety and wellbeing. As a practical tool, it provides clarification and confidence about what to do to create a culture of child safety in any education and care organisation.
The event was hosted by Sarah-Louise Gandolfo, who explained, “This book is a must-have for every early childhood professional’s bookshelf. Nicole takes a confronting topic and turns it into something real, something tangible, something not so scary”.
Moreover, this book enables educators and everyone in the community to comprehend, reflect, and improve as they take best practices into account.
Guest speaker, early childhood teacher, Michelle Smith, said the book was “A powerfully written text that provides not only a detailed yet easy-to-read summary of all Child Safe Standards, but is cleverly and most importantly a working document”.
This book has many valuable and practical strategies that early childhood educators need right now.
“Offering children the protection and care that they deserve,” Nicole Talarico offered.
With a long-term commitment to supporting sector growth, Nicole has a strong focus on the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
