We were delighted to have two book launches to celebrate the release of Practical AI Strategies: Engaging with Generative AI in Education by Leon Furze.
The first launch took place on Monday 31st January 2014, where Aaron Tait and Dave Faulkner, founder of EC by Go1, generously hosted a memorable evening in their Melbourne CBD offices.
As guests arrived, they were greeted with an air of excitement and anticipation. The event kicked off with a book reading by Leon. Attendees, ranging from educators, copyright experts to curious enthusiasts, eagerly listened as Furze delved into how he wrote the book but also what was in the book.
Following Furze's reading there exchange of ideas about the topics of copyright, assessment, equity and more, sparking lively discussion and fostering valuable connections among attendees.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to mingle, network, and engage in thought-provoking conversations about the future of AI. Copies of Practical AI Strategies were available for purchase, and Furze graciously signed books and interacted with readers, further enhancing the sense of community and camaraderie.
Following on from the success of this event, Leon arranged an online live event for those who couldn’t attend in person. This event was well attended by internationals and educators from across Australia. Again, Leon read from his book and answered questions from the floor.
Topics ranged from using GenAI with primary schools, exams, deep fakes, AI detection tool and plagiarism. Big topics!
If you missed it, you can watch the recording here.
We are delighted with the amount of people who have attended launches and are joining the conversation around GenAI in schools.
Congratulations Leon Furze on a great book and series of book launches!
The book is available here but also from online book suppliers in print and ebook.
