Amba Press acquires a new book by two childhood development and parenting experts.

Amba Press is pleased to announce that we have acquired a non-fiction book from childhood development and parenting author and experts, Dr Michael C. Nagel and Dr Shelley Davidow. Amba Press will publish their book Grounded: The off-road guide to supporting children in an unstable world in 2024.

In this book, the authors draw on decades of research, parenting experience, and hard-won insights, and bring it all together in a book with one purpose: to provide parents, from infants to teens, with a guide to protecting childhood and supporting their children's neurological development.

Grounded provides insights on how to minimize the effects of stress and support optimal cognitive, emotional, and physiological development at home, at school, and in the outside world. The guide is based on research in neuroscience, psychology, and education, as well as their own life experiences as parents.

“If we want children to enjoy childhood and become happy, healthy adults in a world that seems increasingly scary to many, there is a lot we can do,” Dr Michael C. Nagel states.

“We believe more strongly than ever that it's time to let children just be children and to look with discernment not only at our home environments, but at the wider world, and at our children’s schools. We do so with a view to ensuring that our kids are not being treated as pawns to be anxiously moved along political or ideological pathways depending upon someone’s preconceived notions of the world,” Dr Davidow comments.
